At Monoc we eat, sleep, and breathe bikes

Our chief designer spent decades working on the Pro scene. He spent time as the head mechanic at Hitachi, PDM, and other Tour and Giro teams. He has also designed custom frames for several pro riders including Yates, Lauritzen, and Redant.

Drawing on this vast wealth of experience we have a hands-on knowledge of what works and what doesn't. We don't just employ designers making products that simply look nice in the showroom and on paper, cost a fortune, and then let you down when they're given some abuse.

We don't skimp on the details. Every road bike in our range comes equipped as standard with top of the range Michelin tyres, as we believe that the tyre is your lifeline between you and the road, so you need good tyres you can rely on - Not cheap tyres that you'll replace as soon as you leave the shop.

We also fit the same high quality headset bearings to all our bikes irrespective of price. It's attention to such details that make the difference.

Ask any Pro where their frames generally break, and they'll tell you it's usually on the down tube either just behind the head tube, or around the bottom bracket area.

All our frames (except Sport) have been designed around our exclusive 'Four Leaf' down tube, which is the product of many months of painstaking research and testing.

The design actually dampens out vibrations resonating along the tube resulting in less stress fatigue at the critical stress points. Once the final design had been approved, the next challenge was to actually manufacture it. The finished tube has been described as a masterpiece itself in aluminium extrusion!
